Electricity is most often used for self-consumption because it is profitable. For example, in offices, factories or farms where people, equipment or other people work, electricity is consumed during the day when the sun's rays are highest. In this way, all the electricity produced is immediately used efficiently, helping to reduce the total cost of electricity.

Off-grid solar electricity or "Off Grid" systems are relevant wherever conventional electricity is not available (no centralized distribution networks) or serves as an alternative source of electricity. For example, when power lines are repaired or storms and other unforeseen natural disasters occur.

One way to use electricity efficiently is to convert it into heat and use it as hot water. However, this solution is mostly used in households because of their relatively low hot water consumption.

On the other hand, where hot water consumption is high (such as factories, swimming pools, health or social care facilities), solar collector systems, which are also specially designed for water heating, are much more advantageous.

The sun does not always shine when the highest power consumption is. Therefore, one of the most pressing issues facing many owners of solar (photovoltaic) panel systems is the storage of the produced electricity.

If it is an office building or an institution where people work every day, then the sun is likely to shine on the photovoltaic panels just in time. Right when people work in this facility and consequently consume the most electricity.
