If it is important to reduce the existing heating costs as much as possible, then it is advantageous to replace the electric heating with a heat pump. This will help reduce the electricity bill for heating by three to five times, depending on the type and application of the heat pump. On the other hand, if the heating costs of the existing heat pump are still too high, it can be supplemented or replaced with a solar pump or solar heat pump system. This will help save six to eight times more money compared to the operating costs of electric heating systems.
The advantage of the solar heat pump system is that on sunny days, the heat not used directly from the solar collectors is drained into the ground, and when the direct solar energy is not enough, the heat pump "pumps" it out of the ground. Thus, the sun heats the house, the water in the boiler or even the swimming pool, if there is one.
At the same time, the solar heat pump system also solves the traditional problem of ground heat pumps – freezing of pipes in the ground contour, which occurs when the ground cools down too much. As a result, classic heat pumps temporarily turn into ordinary electric heating, which significantly increases heating costs for the owners. The solar pump, on the other hand, heats the contour of the earth itself - as soon as it has sufficient solar radiation.
It is also possible to improve a previously installed ground heat pump, turning it into a solar heat pump system. The equipment is supplemented by adding flat vacuum solar collectors to the existing heat pump and installing appropriate automation. It is noteworthy that the energy consumption of such an "improved" system is significantly lower than that of a classic heat pump or any other heating device.
