Solar panels for a new building in Salaspils region were installed with the aim to save electricity in the summer months by providing electric water boiler heating, which is also used for heating the bathroom floor.
Six solar panels provide up to two kilowatts of electricity on sunny summer days, which in this project is not connected to public networks at all. The panels are directly connected to an electric heating device - a 300 liter boiler. In turn, the heat accumulated in the boiler is first used for own consumption (warm water for two sinks and a shower / bath), but the rest is discharged to the warm floor of the bathroom, as well as used to heat the towel dryer.
